A simple envelope from one square, ready for a note or a small card. Three folds and it is done.

You need: One square of paper. 15 cm (6 inch) origami paper is ideal; any square sheet works.

Step by step

Start with the white side up, turned like a diamond. Fold the left and right corners in to the centre.

Fold the bottom corner up, a little past the centre.

Fold the top corner down to close the envelope.

Tuck the top point under the bottom flap, or add a sticker to seal it. Your envelope is done.

Tips

Use a bigger square for a bigger letter: the finished envelope is about 70% as wide as the side of the square.
